Heavy Duty Diesel Technician

The Heavy Duty Diesel Technician, under direct supervision of the Shop Foreman and Service Manager, is responsible for performing repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel trucks and equipment, including both the internal company fleet, and external customer vehicles.

Essential Functions:

  • Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles (including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs)
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance of vehicles
  • Conduct routine service on heavy-duty vehicles
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports
  • Effectively operate machinery, including, but not limited to: forklift, tire changer, overhead crane, various pneumatic tools, alignment machine, welders, and plasma cutter
  • Maintain a safe environment for self and team members
  • Serve in a rotating on-call schedule with all technicians
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Valid Class A CDL license & DOT PA Class 7 inspection license, or a willingness to obtain these during the course of employment; must have valid Driver’s License at a minimum
  • Ability to perform general equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision, at times

In addition to the aforementioned qualifications, the following are also preferred:

  • Post-secondary certificate or formal technician training
  • Welding and hydraulic experience
  • Paint and body work experience
  • Computer skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10-hour shift, day-shift
